NYT vs. Donald Trump

According to the New York Times Donald Trump has crossed the line many, many times during his life when it comes to the treatment of women. And that is good enough reason for the NYT writers to disqualify him from the presidency or at least call it into significant question.

It is clear that Trump has little respect for anyone besides himself. My opinion of Trump is well known. However, if treatment of women is going to be a campaign issue, then I believe in the name of fairness, we must examine both sides of this issue.

The Real War on Women

Hillary Clinton once said, “Human rights are women’s rights, and women’s rights are human rights.”

The liberal left is held up as the champion of women’s rights while people who believe in founding principles and the Constitution are decried as sexists who prefer women to remain in the kitchen or some such nonsense. Nothing could be further from the truth. Let us examine a few leftist policies to demonstrate.

-Obama’s Economic Policies

Stephen Moore’s excellent piece lays out the bleak picture of what women have endured under President Obama’s presidency. During the Obama years, 2 million more women have fallen into poverty, workforce participation has plummeted to its lowest in 25 years, and things aren’t on track to get any better.

-Stance on Refugees and Islam

Bernie Sanders loves the Nordic states - Sweden, Denmark, etc. and often holds them up as models of how society should operate. Anyone who is in favor of women’s rights should disagree.

Police in Östersund, Sweden banned the so-called Earth Hour (where everyone shuts off their lights) after 14 separate sex attacks were reported. The locals made it clear that they believed the attacks could be traced back to a large settlement of migrants just outside the town. They didn’t want to turn the lights out for fear that it would jeopardize the safety of the women in the town.

In Germany, where Angela Merkel (Germany’s Chancellor) has welcomed migrants with open arms, they have begun posting cartoon signs telling the migrants that sexual assault will not be tolerated. The reason behind this PC campaign - an unprecedented surge of sexual assaults perpetrated by Muslim migrant men against German women.

You may remember the New Year’s Eve attacks, reportedly in the hundreds, in Cologne, Germany. You can blame that on Muslim migrants. It’s not fear mongering, it’s just true.*

Just remember, next time you hear liberals touting their record of supporting women’s rights - Obama and many on the left praised Angela Merkel’s actions.

Obama tried to do the same thing here in America. He was opposed by those “nasty conservatives who hate women”.

Oh wait….

-Transgender Bathrooms

Is anyone else tired of talking about bathrooms?

Anyway, the liberal push of allowing anyone into any bathroom they want is just the most recent attack on women. It has nothing to do with diversity or inclusiveness, it has to do with safety.

Prior to this ridiculous argument, men could walk into a women’s bathroom and commit crimes. The sign was not stopping them and that is not the argument. The argument is that now perverted men will have a solid, legal backdoor to escape any punishment for these heinous actions. In fact, it’s already happening.

The Real Champions

These are just a few examples, but they demonstrate that narratives are not always true. Liberal policies hurt women. Liberal politicians are not standing up for women they are stamping them down.

Unlike Hillary Clinton and her leftist buddies, we (conservatives, Constitutionalist, freedom-minded people, whatever you want to call us) believe that everyone is an individual and should assessed based on their own individuality, not on whatever group or minority they may or may not belong to.

The Declaration says that everyone is created equal. We believe that. We fight for that. We believe you are strong enough and smart enough to make your own decisions, stand on your own feet. And you don't need to government to hold your hand.

This means that you as a business owner have the freedom to determine what an employee is worth to you and your business. The government doesn’t get to tell you that.

This means that we want a country with an immigration system that will protect our citizens while at the same time providing opportunity to those who have a desire to assimilate and contribute to make America stronger.

This means that you should be legally protected from assault and that the government should not dictate a policy that has the potential of putting you in danger while providing a legal escape hatch for your attacker.

Ladies, liberal policies are hurting you.

The Constitution and its principles will be your champion.
