What matters most - past words or present words? Which tells us more about a person - past actions or present actions? These are questions that we must ask when it comes to selecting any leader who is asking for our vote. These questions, however, become even more vital when we are considering whom to select as the leader of the free world. Perspective But first, I would like to offer some perspective. After the Northeastern primaries this last Tuesday, many in the media are talking about a huge momentum shift. Trump, they say, has this wrapped up with a bow. Liars lie, but number don’t lie. Trump got approximately 1.3 million votes throughout Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. The combined populations of those states is approximately 24.4 million. It was an impressive win in a three person race. However, when we think back to Texas, we find a very comparable population of 27.4 million. We also find that Ted Cruz received  over 1.23 mill

Unite or Die

Whenever there is more than one person in a room, disagreements can and will occur. This is human nature and a vital part of the development of ideas. If no one had ever argued against the flatness of the earth, Columbus wouldn’t have sailed. Disagreements and arguments conducted in a civil manner are both healthy and productive. However, they can deteriorate into hate and malice when we stop discussing principles and move into the mire of assuming the personal feelings and attitudes of others. Let me explain. The North Carolina’s HB 2 , more commonly known as the “bathroom law”, has become a very hot button issue the last couple weeks. The N.C. law states that if your birth certificate says you are a man (biologically) then you must use the men’s restroom. And the same thing goes for women. If we discuss the principles of the matter , we find that: -It makes logical sense for men to use the men’s room, and women the women’s room. -Allowing anyone into any restroom ope

The Crooked, Low-Down, No Good, Very Bad Primary System

“They weren’t given a vote...It’s a crooked deal. The system is rigged, crooked. That’s not the way democracy is supposed to work.” ~Donald Trump Someone needs to ask Donald Trump when exactly America became a Democracy. Because last time I checked, we were designed and chartered as a Republic. But more on that later. Americans need to understand three things - 1. Party primaries have nothing to do with your rights as an American. 2. America is a Republic, not a Democracy. 3. If you did not participate, you cannot complain. Party Primaries Sadly, it seems to be lost on many Americans that the Republicans and the Democrats are not government entities. They are private groups that make their own rules, platforms and procedures. Therefore, if you are not involved in the party, you cannot influence it. Think of it like a basketball team. If you are not on the Lakers team, you will have no say on how they operate, what plays they makes, etc. If you are on the t

Dear Bernie Supporters: Why Your Support for a Socialist is Anti-American

Why did America revolt against Great Britain? All the reasons listed in our charter, the Declaration of Independence, had to do with government overstepping its boundaries, going beyond its prescribed function. Anytime government does this, it limits freedom and destroys opportunity. That is why it is so sad to see support for Bernie Sanders (and Clinton , too). The kind of government that they are promoting and promising is the kind of government that our Founding Fathers fought against - a government controlling instead of protecting our rights. Question for “Berners”... This week on Twitter , I’ve been putting the question to Bernie Sanders supporters - if it is true, that the government’s job is to provide free healthcare and college education to all Americans (since they are “human rights”) then why isn’t Senator Sanders advocating for free food and water for all Americans? Join in the fun! @painefultruth76 After all, humans can go a lot longer without hosp
