Hurricane Harvey: The Ugly Truth About Dependence

Image
As Hurricane Harvey nears the coast, the world watches with bated breath to see if Trump is up to the first serious challenge of his presidency. And by ‘the world’, I mean the media and the left. And by ‘first serious challenge’, I mean first serious challenge since having to try and deal with a do-nothing Congress . The hurricane is being called “potentially life-threatening” and is expected to cause major damage to the Texas coast. This is no doubt a scary time for many Americans in the path of the storm, and we ought to remember them in our prayers. That being said, Trump’s response is not what matters in this situation, as the media and the left would have you believe. Do Something America has developed a poisonous mindset. It goes something like this - if the government doesn’t do something, the world will end. This colors nearly every aspect of our lives. Government has a supposed duty to DO SOMETHING in nearly every circumstance. Whether it is healthcare/insurance

Nazis, ANTIFA, and the Real America

This has been a crazy week, to say the least. But there’s a few things that America needs to know. 1. History Is Neither Good Nor Bad History merely is what it is. A record of the wrongs, rights, mistakes, and triumphs that made us what and who we are today. It is vital that we understand history from all sides, glorifying the good, acknowledging the bad, learning from all. The slave trade was awful. The Civil War was awful. The racist bigotry and hatred evidenced ( largely by one party in particular ) since then is awful as well. But that was then. This is now. America has had a black president. We have had leaders, businessmen, and everything in between from all different races, walks of life, countries, religions, etc., etc. The fact remains that America is the freest nation in the history of the world. No country has ever seen such strides and social advances in such a short amount of time. We’ll never move to the future, and the past will never be in the past unless we

There It Is: Relativity vs. Truth

Recently, we’ve seen a lot of ignorance deriding the truth. Relativity is the order of the day. No longer is truth absolute, but most view it as subjective. But what happens when you remove the truth? What happens when the foundation of society itself crumbles? You don’t have to look far to find out. Think about it. We are being told a person cannot choose who they are attracted to, because they’re born a certain way. Yet on the other hand we are told that a person can and should be allowed to choose what their gender is. The first is a preference, a choice. The other is biological fact. Relativity means we can’t tell the difference between a choice and biological fact anymore because truth has become relative. Google is telling their employees that if you don’t believe what they want you to believe, they will not tolerate you. Yet on the other hand, photographers and bakers are told they must not only tolerate, but embrace and celebrate beliefs that go against their dee
