Pointedly Missing the Point

Imagine you are hiring someone for a very important job, let’s say president of D.C. Comics Entertainment Division (because let’s face it, they need some help). Imagine they’re sitting across the desk from you, and during the interview as you’re trying to discuss the survival of D.C. Entertainment and the direction it will take in order to have a sliver of hope of competing against the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they keep telling you how great they are at making coffee. Now, don’t get me wrong, coffee is vitally important and arguably the main force behind the world continuing to turn. However, it has nothing to do with making D.C. movies that are competitive in the Marvel dominated superhero movie market. The person sitting across from you may be the world’s greatest, most talented barista...ever. However, that knowledge, that desire to make coffee, does not make them qualified to be at the helm of the constantly faltering D.C. movie department. Furthermore, if all they want

Never Go to Charlotte Without These 3 Things

Facts officially do not matter. Law officially does not matter. Logic officially does not matter. Giving vent to feelings is now all that matters. Feelings of rage and injustice are let loose in a torrent of hate, destruction, and mayhem. Regardless of facts, logic, or law. Feelings reign supreme, consequences be damned. As a result, black lives no longer truly matter in the eyes of these so-called protesters. White lives, brown lives, any color of life no longer holds any meaning if that life happens to oppose their point of view or wear a uniform. Define: Protest Though they apparently do not matter any longer to many, let’s get into the facts of the matter . Black police officer Brently Vinson fatally shot a black man named Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte, North Carolina on September 20, 2016. According to police, he was armed and refused repeated, clearly audible commands to drop his gun. Despite the fact that all indications are the police were justified in

Here’s a question - what do you get when you have a liberal, progressive (who is the BFF of Chelsea Clinton) giving advice to an unprincipled, liberal, Republican in name only presidential candidate? Answer - the Ivanka inspired Trump Child Care Reform Plan . Misdirection Sometimes it’s a good idea to stop looking at the minutiae and take a step back. Take a look at the big picture. What are we debating in the political sphere these days? And how has that changed from what it was just a couple months ago? Possibly the biggest story the last several weeks has been Hillary Clinton’s health. While this is a major concern and the Clinton camp need to stop lying and just come out with the truth, this is not the major concern. It is a distraction, intentional or otherwise. The left is slowly attempting to steal the validity of objections to leftist progressive policies via misdirection. People are saying, “Your only argument against Clinton is her health…” No. She is anti-li

Retweeting Insanity

Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to think for yourself. Perhaps, like me, you’ve noticed an alarming trend in our society. We are living in what I call a “retweet culture”. By that I mean a culture where independent thought has largely vanished, and people merely repeat the talking points they get from “professionals”. After all, why take the time to really think through an issue when someone smarter and more clever has already done it for you, and probably included a hilarious meme to boot? In this day and age where opinions are more plentiful than Hillary Clinton’s lies , real facts can be hard to find. Original thoughts regarding facts are even harder to find. When the answer is never more than a quick Google away and you don’t even have to spell the words correcly, how much thinking do you actually have to do? When you don’t know what to make of a complicated issue, an opinion is just a quick Google away. We are all guilty of this to one degree or another. And I’m
