Plenty of Bullets to Bite

You’ve heard it before, “I support Donald Trump because he is a straight-shooter who always tells it like it is. He’s a businessman, not a politician.” Now we’re hearing a slightly different tune, “Donald Trump is such a genious! He totally knows how to talk like a politician, saying one thing but really meaning another. Isn’t he the greatest?” I am, of course, referring to Trump’s most recent flip-flop (I say “most recent” to differentiate it from the voluminous other flip flops from the recent past), namely the “softening” of his position on deportation of illegal immigrants. This article is not meant to delineate on the pros or cons of Trump’s position or to argue immigration policy. We’ve done that here and here . Neither is this a school-yard "I told you so". Rather this article is merely an attempt to politely point out that we are losing our foundational principles and this will have far more devastating results than the potential loss of an election. Consistently Inconsistent Part II

Maybe pointing out the liberal insanity is pointless (since no one seems to care), but it sure it fun. The inconsistencies and utter , unabashed, blatant hypocrisy is mind blowing, not to mention infuriating. Perhaps, pointing it out, putting it on record is just a way to blow off steam. And let me tell you, the tea kettle is at full boil this week. The Poor Socialist with Three Houses...And an Airplane Let’s begin with the hard-up socialist Bernie Sanders . This story is a week or two old, but I don’t think we should forget it….ever. After a campaign of non-stop railing against the evils of the “rich”, Senator Sanders somehow found enough depth in his ragged, patched socialist pockets to buy himself a third home . Sanders explained this away saying a family house had been sold and had paid for this third home. Be that as it may, one would think a man who actually cared about the plight of the underprivileged would do a bit more than offer lip service to a cause he campaign

"Trump for President, huh?"

The other day I had a very interesting conversation with a friend of mine. This friend resides in a rural part of the country and this time of year is fair season. My friend, being a helpful sort of person, decided to assist a local Republican group with their booth at his county fair. My friend told me that during the course of the evening they received nothing but smiles and support from the passers-by (what you might expect in a rural area). However, at one point, a woman came by the booth with her granddaughter (who is apparently attending college for a degree in political science). My friend told me that the grandmother was a Republican and came by the booth expressly to pick up a “Trump 2016” pin. The granddaughter, on the other hand, looked down at the pins and said, quite wryly, “Trump for president, huh?” My friend was manning the booth with two women, Republicans, who also happened to be grandmothers. My friend, seeing that the granddaughter was obviously turned off by

Arizona Oceanfront: Khizr Kahn, the Constitution, and the Democrat Party

OK, I admit it, I did not in fact watch the Democrat National Convention . I happen to have a life, and a job and a few other minor details that got in the way of feasting my eyes, for several hours a night, on all the...stuff that is the DNC. I did however catch the main highlights, most of the stuff that made it into the news, including the Khizr Kahn incident. I honestly, didn’t think I would get a chance to comment on this. However the story just would not go away. There were many things during the DNC that made one want to pound one’s thumb with a hammer since that would’ve felt better than watching. However, when Mr. Kahn drew out his pocket Constitution and offered to lend it to Donald Trump , that feeling increased exponentially (for those unfamiliar with the incident get caught up here ). The audience exploded in applause at Mr. Kahn’s clever quip pointing out Trump’s lack of understanding of the Constitution (incidentally, an accurate accusation ). The Democrats pr
