Why A Clinton Indictment Could Hurt the GOP

As I write, the body of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia lies in repose at the U.S. Supreme Court building as mourners pay their final respects. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
With Justice Scalia’s tragic passing, the stakes have been raised.
The next president could possibly appoint up to four Supreme Court Justices. The court has gone off the rails, essentially making laws instead of interpreting them. It will be up to the next president to reign in the Court and bring it back to its Constitutional role.
This is just one more very compelling reason on a growing list of why it is absolutely essential we elect a president in 2016 who understands the Constitution and will be bound by its words. That must be our goal. However, an indictment of Hillary Clinton during the primary race could greatly hamper that goal.
To see why, you must first understand that along with South Carolina (which holds its GOP primary tomorrow), about a third of states have open primaries, which means that you do not have to be affiliated or registered with a party to vote on their ticket. This system has received much criticism since it allows voters who would have been registered with party A to cross over and vote in party B’s primary.
This causes what is known as dilution. A candidate that lines up strongly with the Republican platform could potentially lose an open Republican primary because Democrat voters crossed over and voted for a candidate that did not line up as strongly with the platform, giving that weaker candidate the votes needed to defeat the stronger candidate. For example, according to exit polls in 2008, Mike Huckabee won the election among self-identified Republicans, however John McCain won the state.
If Clinton is indicted during the primary, what does that leave the Democrats with? Bernie Sanders, an aging self-proclaimed Socialist. While the Democrat party is left and moving “lefter”, I believe there are many who are still could not bring themselves to vote for a Socialist. If this happened, where could they turn?
They would have three options: (1) don’t vote, (2) vote third party, or (3) vote for the most palatable candidate in the GOP primary. This third option is the reason that a Clinton indictment during the primary would hurt our chance of electing a Constitutional Conservative. If enough Democrats in these open primaries crossed over and voted for the candidate in the GOP that they could tolerate it could potentially ruin the chances of a Conservative getting the nomination.
Hillary Clinton has lied. Justice demands that she be indicted. Period. Benghazi, the email scandal, her stance on life, and many other things disqualify her from being president. Some voters are seeing that (e.g. her stunning defeat in New Hampshire). However, I believe that an indictment occurring during the primary would do more harm than good due to the open primary systems that so many states have.
If she was to be indicted, a candidate like John Kasich, who has claimed to be “to the left” of Clinton, could potentially see his campaign receive new life.
And then of course there’s the only candidate running for the GOP nomination that gave money to Hillary Clinton and many other Democrats. This candidate also happens to be the only candidate to boldly and loudly proclaim the “wonderful things” that Planned Parenthood, the “Baby Murdering Business of the Year”, does for “women’s health”. This candidate is also the only Republican candidate I’ve heard calling for universal healthcare and coming out in favor of an individual mandate.

Yeah, I could see a candidate like that getting some support from Democrats. The only question is, why is he getting support from Republicans?
Bottom line here is whether Clinton in indicted or not, people that believe in America as it was founded to be, people that believe in freedom, people that believe our rights have been tramples on, people tired of business as usual and government looking out for itself, it’s time to put the brakes on and turn this thing around. And the only way to do that is with a leader who understands and applies the Constitution.
Which candidate is that? I think it’s time you did your research and found out.

P.S. Just want to reiterate - I am not loyal to the Republican party in any way. Nor am I hostile to the Democrat party. My beliefs, convictions and ideologies line up with the Constitution and the Republican party comes closer out of the two parties. For more, check out this article. ~JP
