While Planned Parenthood Celebrates 100 Years, Our Constitution Suffers Through Another Election Season In Anonymity

Today’s Paineful Truth is a couple random thoughts on a couple random topics. Actually, they’re not random. They have to do with actual current events. Because you literally cannot make this stuff up, folks.

Constitution in the Attic

You know those Christmas decorations you only get down once a year to look at for a couple weeks before having to put them away while thinking ‘why do we get these out? They’re so much work!’? Based on what I’ve seen, I believe that’s the attitude many politicians have toward our supreme governing document.
If you’ve been paying attention to the 2016 presidential race, the fact that the president’s job is to protect, defend, and uphold the Constitution may come as a surprise to you. Listening to Trump and Clinton talk, one would be led to believe that the president’s job is to create jobs, give taxpayer money to private organizations, manage to get through a speech without coughing to death, and be really good at starting Twitter wars.
The subject of the Constitution and its limits on governmental power has rarely made the headlines throughout this election. And that’s a bad thing. Imagine going through life as a dentist without ever talking about teeth.
Our beloved supreme governing document did get a tad bit of air time however in the final presidential debate (an event that was met with all the excitement one one feels before a root canal - we know it has to happen, now can we just get it over with?). Kudos to Chris Wallace for actually bringing up the topic.
When the subject of the Supreme Court was raised, both candidates gave us some of their thoughts on the Constitution. Basically, Clinton made it clear her vision was a Supreme Court that ruled based on their personal beliefs regarding what was best for America regardless of what the Constitution may say.
Trump on the other hand did a wonderful job of parroting some excellent talking points he’s heard conservatives use. It is all about the Constitution, and it is so vitally important. We must have justices who interpret the Constitution based on the original intent of our Founders and not personal whims or current societal leanings.
One perspective is right, one is wrong. I’ll let you figure it out.

On Another Note...

Planned Parenthood just celebrated their 100th anniversary. They have murdered over 7,000,000 innocent, precious babies since Roe v. Wade in 1973. Planned Parenthood receives over $500 million of our tax dollars every year to fund these murders.
It is far, far past time for this to stop.
Government’s purpose is defend our rights. Among these rights are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Life is the first right. Without life, none of our other rights matter.
The question we as Americans, as humans, must ask ourselves is - how can we trust a  government to protect our rights, when that same government willingly funds the murder of its most vulnerable citizens? How can we trust a  government to protect our rights, when that same government allows the right to life to be stripped away from its most vulnerable citizens?
Is this still a government of, by and for the people? If it is, then what does it say of us that we allow our representatives to continue legally allowing and funding the murder of innocent children?
An American who cares about protecting the rights of his fellow countrymen, can never cast a vote for a politician who advocates the wanton destruction of human life in the name of “choice”.
Planned Parenthood has been killing our next generation for 100 years. No one can call that ‘healthcare’. I do not hesitate to call it evil.
