RANT: Sorry Folks, Internet Is Not a Civil Right

Image
This. “This is a Civil Rights Issue” Some people thought the fight for civil rights hit its zenith during the 1960’s with MLK Jr. Apparently, they were wrong. After finding out that men being able to use the women’s bathroom when they “feel like it” is suddenly a civil right, we now find another civil right that shockingly has been completely ignored since the late 1990’s - equal access to the internet.* Bill Callahan, director of the (federally funded) project Connect Your Community, stated, “This is a civil rights issue.” Is it, Bill Callahan? Is it really? First off, we must know, what is a right? I give you the estimable Noah Webster : “ RIGHT , noun : Just claim; immunity; privilege. All men have a right to the secure enjoyment of life, personal safety, liberty and property... Rights are natural, civil, political, religious, personal, and public.” Right, Not a Right First, you have to realize that having equal access to the  internet it not a right.

The War on Women - Know Your Enemy

NYT vs. Donald Trump According to the New York Times Donald Trump has crossed the line many, many times during his life when it comes to the treatment of women. And that is good enough reason for the NYT writers to disqualify him from the presidency or at least call it into significant question. It is clear that Trump has little respect for anyone besides himself. My opinion of Trump is well known . However, if treatment of women is going to be a campaign issue, then I believe in the name of fairness, we must examine both sides of this issue. The Real War on Women Hillary Clinton once said, “Human rights are women’s rights, and women’s rights are human rights.” The liberal left is held up as the champion of women’s rights while people who believe in founding principles and the Constitution are decried as sexists who prefer women to remain in the kitchen or some such nonsense. Nothing could be further from the truth. Let us examine a few leftist policies to demonstrate. -

Bathroom Humor is No Longer Funny

Do you remember Rachel Dolezal ? Several months ago she made the news for being a white woman, claiming to identify as black. The reaction from all sides was primarily negative. You found many using words like “delusion, hubris, narcissism,” “race-faker”, and “misleading” when referring to her. Criticism of Ms. Dolezal was completely merited. After all, she had been born a certain way but was claiming that she “identified” in a different way . That’s completely illogical, right? Fast forward to now, and we find our president issuing a threat to every school district in the country. Obama’s threat: Schools will face loss of federal funds if they do not allow people who are born a certain way but claiming to “identify” in a different way to have access to all activities and facilities consistent with their current “identification”. Oh, for a simpler time when words actually meant something and we hadn’t plunged head-first into the liberal looking glass. Obama’s proposed j

Would You Rather:

Have you ever played the game “Would You Rather…?” It’s an entertaining thought game that presents you with two equally horrid options and asks you to make a choice between the two. Would you rather: Have your parachute fail while skydiving? Or have your car brakes fail at 90 mph while driving at a brick wall? Would you rather: Be eaten by a shark? Or be eaten by a lion? Would you rather: Have a lying, progressive liberal Democrat as president? Or have a lying, progressive liberal Republican as president? Yeah, the game can get pretty morbid. How’d We Get Here, America? For nearly a year, Americans had the opportunity to examine +/- 16 candidates for the GOP nomination. In the end, Donald J. Trump was chosen. I will not repeat previous accounts of Trump’s utter disregard for liberty, the Constitution and American principles. Apparently, the majority of Americans know these things. But they just don’t freaking care. What led to this? The presumptive nomination of
